Arkansas Soldier Killed in Fighting

The Department of Defense announced today the death of an Arkansas soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. 20-year old Pfc. Donovan D. Witham of Malvern, Arkansas died August 21 near Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.
