Just south of highway 102, an accident claimed the life of a senior at Bentonville High School. According to deputies, Saturday, T.J Hughes lost control of his vehicle and hit a tree stump. He was transported to Northwest Medical Center where he later died.
Monday councilors helped students cope with the loss of their fellow classmate. Hughes was 18. He played tuba in his high school band and touched the lives of his classmates.
"When we were in summer marching practice he would always count the loudest” said student Peter Hamby. “He was very enthusiastic and nice to everyone. He will be missed terribly."
