According to Sister’s Gourmet Bistro Owner, Richard Hodo, these are the first alcoholic drinks in Crawford County "since 1942, legally I should say."
It took a lot of time and hard work to get a liquor license at Sister’s Gourmet Bistro, but Hodo says it was worth it. Hodo explains, “Todays just the first day, but we had a real good lunch crowd, really busy, and I really expect it to be really busy this afternoon and tonight.”
All it takes is a five dollar membership fee per family. Then you can eat, drink, and be merry right here in downtown Van Buren. Locals say they’re loving it.
Stan Komander says, "It feels good."
Another local, Bethany Windham, says, "The margaritas are actually really good."
Robert Craft explains, "That beer tastes mighty good, to have a beer in Crawford County and Van Buren…its good."
Sister’s Gourmet Bistro already has 286 members. They say they hope that number will more than double over the next few days.
