We have a copy of the affidavit where Larry Couch admitted to stealing $100,000 from the Marble City School District. Larry Couch offered to resign Monday night at a special school meeting, but he wants the district to pay out the last 2 ½ years of his contract…that’s $247,000. The State Board says they’re working on removing Couch’s certificate. That means right now, Couch’s fate is in the hands of the three-member local school board. One board member, Ramon Bolin, voted to suspend Couch with pay. Bolin says, "To me that would have been the logical thing to do, and then they spring this buying his contract on me, and I had no idea this was coming up." Mary Cooksey voted to accept couch’s resignation, and the third board member, Tim Farris, refused to second either motion. Bolin says what he really wants is for Couch to resign. Bolin explains, "I just dont see how he faces the parents, the tax payers, and the kids, and I dont see how he does that every day." Oklahoma State Auditor, Terry Watkins, says they have three people working on this case, which is more than usual. She says she thinks the $100,000 is just the beginning.
