A Bethel Height police officer turned in his badge just hours before being arrested by Lowell police. Lowell police began investigating former Bethel Heights Sergeant Michael Sharum in March. They were tipped off to a forged check cashed at Arvest Bank in Lowell. The check belonged to a woman who reported her wallet stolen from Dillard’s in the Northwest Arkansas Mall. Police say Sharums signature was on the forged check, which was cashed for 500 dollars.
Police say Sharum cooperated with their investigation.
