Officer Jerry Foley, a patrolman for the Roland Police Department, released a statement saying, "We have evidence of councilmen telling officers to write tickets or lose their jobs, councilmen telling officers to cover up criminal acts that have been committed by persons employed by the town, council men covering up a missing dog incident in which the dog was to be in quarantine and was killed." Several Roland police officers say they are getting together with officers from other local departments, and they’re making some serious accusations against three Roland council members. Foley says, "We have decided to form a Fraternal Order of Police Lodge to assist us in stopping the unethical request by the newly elected councilmen" Foley, now a spokesperson for the group, says several officers have been collecting evidence for a while. They say that evidence includes recorded conversations. Foley says they have hired a lawyer, and they aren’t releasing any of the evidence yet. The group says the Roland Police Department has a bad name, and they say the officers aren’t to blame. Foley explains, "That’s what our town needs to do. They need to really look at whats going on and talk to some of the people here, and find out whats going on." The city is having a special meeting this Friday. Fox 24 will be at that meeting. The Roland officers we spoke to say they want the Roland community to be there as well. We tried to talk to the council members tonight. One answered the phone, but said he doesn’t want to release a statement.
