Wal-Mart is backing out of a lawsuit settlement. It was filed by a Clarksville woman, who says she was a victim of gender and race discrimination after she couldnt work because of an injury. The retail giant was expected to offer her one to two million dollars, but that changed once the media showed up to the meeting. Tachany Evans, the former employee, says, "The mediator said we were not going to negotiate because he felt like the powers that be felt this was compromised that media was here. He felt like I was the one who contacted the media. He asked how else would they know. I told him he should come speak with you guys, and find that I was not the one who contacted you guys, but he felt like that was not necessary." Wal-Mart attorneys didnt comment on the lawsuit.
