Meth use affects the community in more ways than one but the economic impact of meth stands out. According to a University of Arkansas survey, meth costs businesses almost 21 million dollars a year in lost productivity, employee turnover and efficiency. Meth use also has a subtle influence on crimes. As a result, Benton and Pulaski counties will join a lawsuit against pharmaceutical companies who produce ephedrine - a chemical used to make meth.
