Some Washington County towns are taking water treatment issues into their own hands. After a study showed Farmington, Lincoln and Prairie Grove wouldnt benefit from the Northwest Arkansas Conservation Authoritys Regional Sewer Plant, the cities decided to treat their own wastewater.
Farmington has a multi-year sewer contract with the city of Fayetteville. Lincoln upgraded its sewer system in 1998. Prairie Grove is considering upgrading its system next year.
