As it stands now, 41-year-old Doyle Frye will spend the rest of his life behind bars. Earlier this week a Benton County jury found Frye guilty of digitally and orally raping a member of his family in August of last year. She and her family were living with Frye at the time. The prosecution asked the jury for the maximum sentence because this isn't the first time Frye's worn handcuffs. He has several felony charges on his record, including a first degree battery charge-- after he ran a road block and severely injured a police officer...and a lewd battery charge with a four year old child out of Florida-- which is the equivalent of a sexual assault crime here in Arkansas. Frye reportedly showed little emotion in the courtroom as the verdict and his sentence were read. One of Frye's defense attorneys says he expected the sentence to be severe, but he didn't expect life. Deputy Prosecutor Stephanie McLemore says with this sentence, the jury is sending a clear and stern message. "I think it sends a very strong message that the people of Benton County will not tolerate child abuse and it's not something they're going to stand for."
