Wal-Mart is helping wildfire relief -- to the tune of $1 million. The money will aid the American Red Cross in helping fire victims. The Red Cross has around 3-thousand workers in California. "We also donated truck load upon truck load, I think 30 or 40 in total, of cots, water and supplies to help people who had to leave their homes," says Bill Simon, COO of Wal-Mart stores. Wal-Mart is also setting up collection sites in their stores so customers can donate. This isn't the first time the company has donated towards disaster relief. Wal-Mart gave more than $32-million to help Katrina victims back in 2005-- $2 million of that went to the Red Cross. The money comes from the Wal-Mart Foundation. "Many people don't know that one of the things that we do is through the Wal-Mart Foundation. We're one of the largest charitable givers in the U.S. and whenever we see a community in need, we serve that community with our stores and we also serve them with our contributions," Simon says.
