Around 8:30 Sunday night, a women who wrecked near Avoca told deputies her boyfriend beat and then shot at her. Deputies went to question her boyfriend, James Scott, but Scott didnt invite them in. According to a Benton County Sheriffs Office media release, deputies heard a voice from inside the trailer tell them to off the property or "I will shoot you." Deputies retreated to the road and called for back-up. Ten SWAT team members and six deputies surrounded the Scotts trailer. SWAT team members arrested Scott around 1 a.m. Monday morning. Scott was taken to St. Marys hospital with a leg injury.
