Deputy Involved In Shooting Will Return To Duty

A Benton County deputy who shot a man in the face will return to work. On October 19, deputies were in a high speed chase with Felipe Esparza. They cornered the truck he was driving. It rammed the cars and backed up take another shot at the road block. Deputy Michael Andrews shot at the truck and hit Esparza in the head. Esparza was taken to the hospital. He’s recovering now in the Benton County Jail. After an investigation into the shooting by the Arkansas State Police, prosecutors called Andrews actions “necessary and justified.”
