KURM Radio station owner Kermit Womack says hes come to realize his morning talk show attracts a bevy of outspoken callers...but those expressions have turned to outrage for some as an anonymous group or person began sending out notice of a station boycott. Womack says his station stands up for free speech, but there are other broadcasters who both agree and disagree. Saying with the right to free speech comes added responsibility. Carlos Chicas is not only a Latino broadcaster, as of Wednesday afternoon, hes also an American citizen. He says he understands the great benefit of free speech, but says it should be handled delicately. And while Womack and Chicas may not see eye to eye on every issue they encounter, they both agree an anonymous boycott serves to solve nothing and hope whoever is behind it will step up ready to voice their right to speak.
