The facility has taken three years to build. Sparks C.E.O, Ted Woodrell, says now that constructions almost over patients can feel more at ease. Woodrell says the hospital is designed to look more like a home. The rooms have cool features, like day beds with bay windows and plasma tvs. "Healthcare is always a stressful event when you are patient, so if we can reduce that stress by designing accomodations to relieve that a little bit, then we are serving our patients better." said Ted Woodrell, Sparks CEO. Some rooms even have light fixtures that shine through artwork on the ceiling. "It gives patients the feeling of not being so claustrophobic. Maybe like theyre looking outside at the sky or the trees. It just makes the whole experience better for them." said Dr. Lee Johnson, Medical Director, Sparks Emergency Department. The new facilty opens March 10th and Governor Beebe plans to check it out this Thursday. ..
