Franklin County Man Faces Rape and Sexual Assault Charges

Franklin County man arrested last week by agents from the Attorney General's Office for possession of child pornography now faces charges of rape and sexual assault in Crawford County.
Kenneth Gene Mendenhall, 38, of Altus, was charged with one count of rape and one count of second-degree sexual assault. Agents from the Attorney General's Office began the investigation that resulted in the new charges after arresting Mendenhall on June 21 for possession of child pornography. Mendenhall was charged in Franklin County with six counts of distributing, possessing or viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child.
Mendenhall is currently in the Franklin County Detention Center in lieu of $30,000 bond on the child pornography charges.
