Tuesday's Edge List: 10 Money-Saving Tips according to saveforhouse.com

Number 10: Heat Up your Bank Account
During the winter months, bundle up with warm clothing and blankets so you don't have to run your heater as much. Heating gets expensive and this tip can save you about $60 a year.

Number 9: Put Change in your Savings Account
If you've got chunks of change sitting around, make a habit of counting your change each year and throw that in your savings account. If you do this you can save about $60 a year.

Number 8: Eat Out Less
This one is easy, if you eat out one less meal per month you can save about $60 a year. To magnify your savings even more, grab free food whenever you can get it.

Number 7: Rent Not Buy
When it comes to DVD's, renting is cheap these days, much cheaper than buying. Especially if you're only going to watch the DVD once, it doesn't make much sense to fork up the cash. You can save about $60 a year if you just rent.

Number 6: Cut Out the Magazines
Picking up magazines and newspapers at the store add up, especially when the info you're getting can be found for free on the internet. Cut out this habit and you could save about $72 a year.

Number 5: A Tip on Tipping
Let's be clear, you always need to tip. It's courteous to the people working in the service industry. After all, they're just trying to make it through the work day too, but you can cut down on the amount you tip and save yourself a little dough. About $104 a year.

Number 4: Less Haircuts
Don't give your bank account a haircut when you need one, they can be expensive, but if you reduce the frequency of your hair cuts you can save $120 a year.

Number 3: No More Aggressive Driving
Driving slower saves you money on gas, so the next time you're in a hurry or feeling a case of road rage, cool down and slow it down. You can save yourself a total of $120 a year if you do.

Number 2: Cut Out the Paper Towels
Continually buying paper towels will quickly eat up your money, instead, use rags to clean your place. They're re-usable and you're doing the environment a favor. If you cut out paper towels you can save $120 each year.

Number 1: Ice Water instead of Soda
Stop ordering soda or any other sort of beverage when you go out to eat, instead, bring it with you from home if you have to have your soda fix. If you just ask for water at restaurants, you'll save $320 a year.
