The Pulse: Brazil Nightclub Fire Kills Hundreds

This is Sunday night's edition of -- The Pulse.

Number five -- The price of a stamp is going up by only by a penny. Starting today, first class stamps will now cost you 46-cents. Sending mail out of the country will now cost $1.10. The hike in postage prices come as the U.S. Postal Service continues to face financial struggles.

Number four -- Boeing is still building it's 787 Dreamliners. The FAA stopped Boeing from flying the jets, but a company spokesperson confirmed they are not only keeping the current production schedule, but plan on doubling production by the end of the year. Earlier this month, the FAA grounded all 50 Dreamliners around the world after lithium battery fires broke out in two jets.

Number three -- New York authorities said two people have been rescued from a small plane that went down into the Hudson River off Yonkers. Yonkers police said the single-engine aircraft only had two people on board and both were plucked from the waters about 20 to 30 minutes after the crash. They were taken to Jacobi Medical Center, treated for hypothermia and listed in stable condition.

Number two -- People around the world marking International Holocaust Remembrance Day. In Israel, dozens of items were displayed in a museum help tell victims' stories. In Vatican City, the pope calls for respect and dignity for all humans. Troops liberated the largest concentration camp, Auschwitz, 68 years ago today.

Number one -- A fire at a nightclub in Brazil claimed more than 200 lives and injured at least 200 more. Officials said at least one of the exits was locked at the club, trapping hundreds inside and many suffocated from inhaling smoke. Others were trampled, trying to escape the nightclub. Local health officials said medical supplies from all across the state are being shipped to the scene to help. Police said all the bodies are now removed from The Kiss nightclub and they are still investigating the cause of the fire. Several witnesses said the fire began after the band playing at the club lit fireworks.
