What happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas. States across the country are laying their cards on the table and admitting they want a slice of the casino money pie. Both commercial and tribal gaming has spread to 39 states and states like Massachusetts are also ready to go all in saying they'll consider risks like gambling addiction. More than 340,000 Americans work in the casino industry alone. The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that number will grow 13% by 2020.
Adopt-a-Highway Denied
The Ku Klux Klan's requested to adopt a one-mile stretch of highway in north Georgia. According to a state official, the request has been denied. The group applied to the state transportation department to clean the stretch of road in Union County Georgia. Previously, the group said it would approach the American civil Liberties Union if its application was denied.
Sandusky Trial
The child sex abuse case of former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky finishes day two Tuesday. Assistant football coach Mike McQueary told jurors he saw Sandusky in a campus shower with an underage boy. It's the second time McQueary gave testimony saying he witnessed his former boss with a boy who appeared to be between ten and twelve years old. Sandusky is facing fifty two counts of abusing ten boys over a fifteen year period. He's pleaded not guilty.
Kings Win Cup
The LA Kings nabbed the Stanley Cup. After taking a 3-0 series lead and then losing 2 potential clinching games last week, the Kings came out on top last night at the Staples Center. They owned the ice and dominated the New Jersey devils 6 to one...Taking home their first stanley cup.
Apple Announcement
Apple made introduced some of it's new and upcoming technology. Apple CEO Tim Cook let "Siri" do a lot of the talking when he showed off an array of laptops, tablets and software at Apple's Worldwide Developers conference.
