Main Street Rogers is hosting it's second Third Friday event, and they've invited a former board member to take the stage.

Palmer Lee is a third generation Mountie, born and raised in Rogers Arkansas.

"I love Rogers," she says.  "I'm proud to be from Rogers. It's been fun growing up in Northwest Arkansas."

After graduating from Rogers High School in 2011, Lee left for Nashville to attend Belmont University.

"It's been incredible," she says. "I'm a commercial voice major which means I get to study classical and commercial singing, and I've met so many great people."

People like Chase Coy, another songwriter. The two formed the band Third and Union in March.

"We wrote ten songs in just a few months, and we just recorded an album a few weeks ago in Nashville," Lee says.

The nineteen year old is back home for the summer.

"It's great to have the support of all my friends and family to come listen to all my new stuff," she says.

Those friends and family have a chance to hear her live, performing for the city's third Friday event at 5:45.

"The first time I ever really performed for an audience was at the Frisco Fest for a talent show on the same stage," Lee says. "It's a really cool deal."

It isn't Lee's first time to work with Main Street Rogers, she used to be on the board.

"I know all about trying to get people downtown," she says. "I'm excited. I think there should be a lot of people here tonight."

Third Friday runs until 9 pm, and includes children's activities, live music and sales at the local stores in the city's downtown district.
