Police Have Suspect in Custody in Murder of 6-year-old

A 28-year-old man is behind bars accused of murdering a 6-year-old Bentonville girl. Police announced Monday night they'd arrested Zachary holly for the death of Jersey Bridgeman. Holly lived next to the Bridgemans on SE A Street and knew the family. Last week, Jersey's body was found just a few houses away from her own shortly after she was reported missing. Investigators received autopsy reports Monday from the state crime lab but have not yet released that information.
Police in Springdale are investigating a report of an armed robbery last Wednesday. Police say the man told them he was forced to stop on West End Street after two black cars blocked both lanes. He claims a white man got out of one of the cars, pointed a gun at his head and demanded money before taking off with a thousand dollars and an iPhone. The man told police the robber is in his 20's, wore a black hoodie with a slim build and has no facial hair or obvious scars or tattoos. If you have any information, contact Springdale Police.
Tuesday is Election Day for runoff elections in our area. Seven cities will have runoffs all for city council spots. Only people living in these particular wards can vote. Early voting began November 20th.
Parking in downtown Fayetteville pulling back into the spotlight. At Tuesday's city council meeting, three sites for a proposed parking deck will be considered. The WAC lot, which is located where the main Walton Arts Center parking lot is now, the theatre lot, where Grub's Bar and Grill is currently located, and the east lot, on School Avenue. City leaders will see the proposals Tuesday and make their selections next week. Once a site is selected, the city will secure funds for the project and construction could begin by the middle of next year.
Heads up to drivers your commute into Fayetteville could change in the next few months. The city is putting in a roundabout at Futrall Drive and North Hills Boulevard. Monday, traffic will be routed through the new intersection with temporary signs and road markers. But the project isn't finished yet; the off ramp from the Fulbright Expressway will be reduced to one lane to allow modifications to the ramp. This project is expected to last about two months.
After a few weeks of relief at the pump, gas prices are on the way back up and the holidays may be to blame. According to ArkansasGasPrices.com, the average retail gasoline prices in the Natural State have risen more than two cents per gallon, making the average $3.17/gallon. But it's still well below the national average which is $3.43/g.
Now that the first three big holiday shopping days are in the books, it's time to give. Tuesday is named "Giving Tuesday" and it's designed to make sure people remember to give to those in need. Whether it's money.. time, awareness, or some other type of support, non-profits across the country and Northwest Arkansas just hope you'll give back in some way.
