Bentonville Transportation Director, Chris DeWitt will be out on the roads starting at 2 am Tuesday.
From checking ground temperatures and weather radars , even driving bus routes himself , he'll be helping make the call on whether or not Bentonville kids get a snow day.
"If we have to alter our bus routes, then we really start getting concerned about whether we should go to school because it's not just our buses that have to travel that road it's also the parents and students that may live there that drive for the high school," Chris DeWitt, Bentonville Schools Transportation Director said.
Dewitt said they won't take a risk if ice is forecast, but if only snow is expected, school will be in session.
Districts will notify students and families no later than 5:30 am. It's policy that if a notice is not sent, school is open.
