It's the cat in the hat creator's birthday, and a man is nowhere to be found after his home turned into a sinkhole. Here is Friday's edition of "The Pulse".
Bonnie Franklin Death
Actress Bonnie Franklin has died after a battle with pancreatic cancer. She is best known for her role in the TV show "One Day at a Time". A private memorial will be held next week, she was sixty-nine.Dr. Seuss's Birthday
Saturday is Dr. Seuss's 108th birthday, which means its a holiday for young readers. "Read Across America Day" is celebrated Friday, the idea was launched 16 years ago as a pep rally for reading.
Groupon CEO Fired
Groupon has fired its CEO, Andrew Mason. The daily deals website let Mason go after disappointing quarterly results. Now, the companies shares are up. After his exit, Mason released a letter saying he failed in his role as a leader.
Sinkhole Disaster
A Florida man is believed to be dead after he fell into a sinkhole under his bedroom. Fire crews say they tried to locate the victim but had to call of the search because the situation is too dangerous. They also say the sinkhole is still spreading and the whole house could collapse at any time.
Spending Cuts
85-billion dollars in forced government spending cuts, set to take affect some time before midnight. Obama has signed the cuts into motion as lawmakers could not come to an agreement. Work furloughs won't officially start for atleast 30 more days, so there's still time for congress to work out something to affect the least amount of people.
