Leflore County authorities say the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force were looking for Billy Jack Russell for almost half a month for beating a 3-year-old boy so bad that the toddler almost suffered kidney failure.

Leflore County Sheriffs department said they were tipped off by an informant of Russell's whereabouts, so they went after him. Russell was arrested in Leflore County and charged with cultivation of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a fire arm, and resisting arrest.

Billy Jack Russell will face charges in Leflore County and then be extradited back to Pittsburg County, Oklahoma to face the Child Abuse charges.
