Carroll Electric Customers In NWA Without Power

By: Channing Barker
Updated: September 9, 2012
Update:  All power has been restored at this time.

Almost 1,000 Carroll Electric customers in Benton County are without power.

The outage occurred at around 4:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

An official with Carroll Electric says a cross arm structure that connects the transmission line to two substations broke, causing the outage.

Carroll Electric is currently back-feeding power from other substations to customers to restore power, which will also isolate the area where the cross arm broke.

The co-op says most customers should have their power restored in the next 30 minutes.  A few customers who live in the immediate area near the damaged transmission line could have to wait an hour or two before the power is back on.
