Arkansas Scores a "D" on Preterm Birth Rate

Arkansas is working to help more babies start a healthy life with prematurity prevention efforts.
According to Arkansas March of Dimes, a nonprofit organiztion for pregnancy and baby health, the state has improved over the last five years in the preterm birth rate but still scored a "D."
To continue improving, Arkansas is partnering with the state's health department and local hospitals to make newborn health a priority. The goal is to reduce the premature birth rate at least 8-percent 2014.
