Could former Razorback Cliff Lee be dealt before the MLB trade deadline? It's possible. But Sports Illustrated baseball writer Tom Verducci told The Dan Patrick Show Tuesday that it's not likely. Courtesy: "The Dan Patrick Show"
Here are a few of the statements from Verducci on the possibility of Lee being traded to the Phillies.
"Well plan B is Cliff Lee, but Im not so sure that thats going to be any easier than Roy Halladay. The price will be slightly less, Cliff Lees not as accomplished as Roy Halladay, but the Cleveland Indians are not exactly as motivated to move their guy as Toronto is with Halladay."
"Cleveland is very, I think theyd be very satisfied to bring Cliff Lee back next year at a very reasonable option on his contract next year. They have a team that they think, with Cliff Lee, can still contend in 2010. Its not as if they have to move the guy, that hes going to be a free agent, that they need a two or three year rebuilding plan. So, if the Phillies think plan b is going to cost them a whole lot less than plan a, i think theyre mistaken."
