People in Hiwasse can expect to see a couple of extra officers patrolling the area.

The Gravette City Council recently approved the addition of new police officers which brings the total number of officers to nine.

The city took over Hiwasse's 9-1-1 calls on April 30th and Mayor Byron Warren says this will mean faster response times for people in Hiwasse.

They plan to have two officers on patrol at all times with one on the west side of Gravette and one on the east near Hiwasse.
