Lincoln High School Teachers Raise Big Bucks

Some local teachers are taking to the web to improve their classrooms.

After the budget belt was tightened at Lincoln High School, a few teachers logged onto the internet to try to raise money... and it worked!

Thanks to DonorsChoose.org and Horace Mann insurance, the teachers raised more than $8,500!

"If we can give back to the education community and run a business at the same time, it's a good feeling to get out of bed in the morning and help people," says David Enlow, the owner of the local Horace Mann office.

The money will help buy color printers and other special projects to help students get the most out of their classroom.

Sarah Simmons teaches business and technology at Lincoln High School.

She says her students are stoked about color printers, which will help them create professional-looking projects for the school and the community.

"They can't wait to print and put things all over the wall! They want their work on the wall so everyone can see it," she says.
