Winter Storm Warning in Effect in NWA and River Valley

A winter storm warning is now in effect for Washington, Benton, Madison, Crawford, Carroll and Franklin counties until Thursday at noon. Light snow and sleet will be possible today with accumulations around an inch. Sleet mixes with freezing rain tonight through Thursday morning with ice accumulations from .10" to .5" inch in the higher elevations.

The storm system leaves us Thursday afternoon with calmer weather expected Friday. Stay with KNWA and the Fox News Edge on air and online for continuing severe weather updates, including school closures.
