Police: Man Found with Bullet Wounds at Auto Parts Store

Police in the River Valley are investigating a shooting Tuesday morning after finding a man with several bullet wounds in an auto-store parking lot. These are the seven stories you need to know about before you head out the door.
It happened at the Auto Zone just before 5:00 p.m. Monday in Fort Smith. Police say 28-year-old Sherron Zanders was found in the passenger seat of a Black Cadallac with multiple gun shot wounds. According to investigators, the suspect is on the loose and armed with a gun. Police say they are not sure where the shooting took place and no arrests have been made. Zanders was taken to a local hospital with life threatening injuries
There's new information in a robbery and prostitution sting that started on sites like Craigslist and backpage.com. Springdale police say they now have another man in custody, in connection with the crime and he also happens to be a registered sex offender. Investigators say William Brown was part of an armed robbery at a home on Crutcher Street in November. After she set up a meeting with a victim online, police say a female escort then lured the man to the home. Once inside, Brown and three other men jumped out of a closet and robbed the man, using a gun and a screwdriver. Last week, officers arrested Timothy Counts, Richard Rodriguez, and Melvin Cooper. All four face aggravated robbery charges. Last month, police say they took two more reports from victims robbed in a similar fashion.
A Rogers man is sentenced for more than a dozen counts of child pornography charges. 25-year-old Kile Licause pleaded guilty to 15 counts of distributing, possessing or viewing materials showing sexually explicit conduct involving a child. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison with another 10 years suspended. He will also be required to register as a sex offender. Licause was arrested at his rogers home back in October of last year, after admitting to cyber crime agents that he had images of child pornography on his laptop.
Temperatures are below freezing for the second straight morning and the Salvation Army's doors in Fayetteville has opened its doors for guests seeking refuge from the cold. Whenever temperatures drop below 39 degrees, the organization opens an emergency cold weather shelter. When the digits hit 23 degrees, it becomes an around the clock warming center, which is a life saver for people in need across Northwest Arkansas. The Salvation Army is the only overnight cold weather shelter in Northwest Arkansas, with two locations: one in Fayetteville and one in Bentonville.

SWEPCO officials say paying for a heating and cooling system check up once a year will save money in the long run by keeping equipment running as efficiently as possible. They also advise checking weather stripping around doors and caulking on windows, as well as for leaky duct-work to keep that cold air out. Heating and cooling technicians say its also important to check filters once a month because a filthy filter kills efficiency. The power company says customers should set thermostats at 68 degrees to save even more

The grant will be used for shade structures and benches at the park. Room to Run is a community program designed to support dog parks and off leash areas.
