The latest on gun control from Washington, and Armstrong's interview with Oprah airs Thursday. Here is Thursday's edition of "The Pulse".

"Dear Abby"
Long time advice columnist "Dear Abby" has died at the age of ninety-four. Pauline Phillips wrote an advice column for many years under the name of Abigail Van Buren. She spent a lot of her later years struggling with Alzheimer's, no word yet on cause of death. Her column competed for decades with the advice column of Ann Landers which was written by her twin sister.

Boeing
The skies are not so friendly tonight for Boeing. Their first new plane in two decades, the much-heralded dreamliner, was grounded late Wednesday by the F.A.A. They say there are issues with the batteries catching on fire and have had to cancel flights across the country, which is a huge blow to the company.

Gun Control
Vice President Joe Biden urged America's Mayors to help the Obama administration reduce gun violence in a speech Thursday. Biden says he does not want to see another school shooting. On Wednesday, President Obama proposed a package of measures intended to reduce gun violence including a ban of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.

Armstong and Oprah
Lance Armstrong was stripped of his 2000 Olympic Games bronze medal Thursday, continuing the once dominant cyclists fall from grace after a doping scandal. Armstrong sat down with Oprah, admitting to the thing he'd denied for so long, using performance enhancing drugs.

Te'o's Troubles
The sports world and the internet are abuzz as Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o says he was the victim of a "sick joke", but who's really behind the hoax Te'o and Notre Dame say he was the victim but more and more people seem to think that Te'o himself is behind the lies. So who is the woman depicted in the pictures that are supposed to be Te'os girlfriend? A stranger, totally unrelated to the situation, who realized her pictures were used for a fake account.
