A Kansas man faces a bizarre child support battle after he donated sperm to a lesbian couple. The state is demanding that William Marotta pay child support because he and the couple did not use a licensed physician or clinic, which a current statute requires. Marotta donated his sperm to the couple so they could have a child. All three signed an agreement that relieved Marotta of any guardianship or visitation rights. But after one of the women tried to get financial assistance through the state, officials found out about him. Now, Kansas has filed a petition demanding Marotta be held financially responsible for the child.

Frozen Lake Rescue
Arizona crews had to rescue three teenagers from a frozen lake Wednesday, after the ice cracked beneath them. Crews plucked two teens from the tree they were hanging onto in the middle of the lake. Rescuers say the teens were hanging onto the tree for more than two hours, without their shoes, because those were stuck to the ice. The other teen made it to a snow covered bank. By the time rescuers got to them, the temperature had dropped to 22 degrees. All three teens were taken to the hospital and treated for mild hypothermia.
