A well-known Arkansas original series has made it to the Academy's A-list.

"Last Shot with Judge Gunn" has been nominated by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for a Daytime Emmy Award for "Outstanding Legal Courtroom Program."

Judge Mary Ann Gunn is a prominent figure in the natural state, and said she had no clue the show would be up for an Emmy.

She also said it all started with her hopes of raising awareness about drug court, so an Emmy nomination? Gunn said it is the cherry on top.

"I'm proud of the participants, the team, the community everyone...The more attention we can bring to the problem of drug abuse and alcohol abuse, the better we are, the more doors that we can open or help open, and the more education we can provide. That's all I want, it's all I've ever wanted."

Now, Judge Gunn said they will just have to wait and see if they bring home an Emmy.

The Emmy Awards are June 23 in Beverly Hills, California.
