It's not too early to start cooking turkeys at the Samaritan Community Center where an early Thanksgiving meal is being prepped, to be served Tuesday morning.

"Forty turkeys, 60 pies, cases of dressing cases of mashed potatoes," says Elisa Pulido, cafe coordinator at Samaritan Community Center.

An amount of food that would make for a busy few weeks at any normal eatery.

But it's all in a day's work for volunteers and staff at the Samaritan Community Center.

"That's what I'm doing right now, serving the community and blessing many people," says Chef Ceasar Ceniobio.

Thanks to food donations from the Wal-Mart transportation department , combined with helping hands in the kitchen, Monday's meal prep is sure to cook up some smiles come Tuesday.

"During the holidays especially, I think a lot of our clients can't afford a turkey, can't afford to have a good, homecooked meal," Pulido says. "And I think it's important just to have them come in our doors and feel loved."

Between the Rogers and Springdale locations the Samaritan Community Center expects to serve nearly 800 families in need Tuesday morning.
