Fayetteville Aims to Sell Old Tyson Plant to Kum & Go

Updated: January 9, 2013
The City of Fayetteville could soon be cashing in on some property that once housed a Tyson factory.

Starting next week, Fayetteville City Council members will try to pass a measure to sell two acres of the Tyson property on Huntsville and Happy Hollow Roads to Kum and Go for a price tag of nearly a million dollars.

The gas station is reportedly offering city officials $900,000 for the property so it can build a convenience store there.

The property once housed a Tyson Mexican Original taco and corn chip factory.

Fayetteville later built a fire station on the property, but the old Tyson structure still stands.

The city council will take up the measure on Tuesday, January 15.
