The Springdale School District has created a new way for parents to connect.
"You get to talk about what your kids are doing and it's fabulous... Anyone who wants to write a blog just puts one together, we talk about the different things that are happening in the schools."
Keli Gill was the first to post on sdalemoms.wordpress.com.
"This is kind of a little bit of a novel idea about having any of your parents chime in and talk about things that are happening in their school."
Even as a mother of three, working at Sonora Elementary, Gill believes sharing information via social media is simple.
"One of the best things you can always do as a parents, is talk to other parents... You get to talk about the different ways that your kids are learning in the classroom, you get to talk about how the teachers are doing interventions to help kids learn better, you get to talk about any new programs that they have coming down the wire."
The blog is providing a positive platform, where a simple post can reach parents across the district.
"Our schools are about being there for the entire child and for every need that child has... It's just a really great venue for parents to share information about their school."
The site is still in its early stages with only a few posts, but Gill hopes more parents will start utilizing the blog.
