The Springdale School District transports more than 13,000 kids per day.

We took a ride with one of the very best bus drivers in Springdale to see why he loves his job.

"I guess it helps keep me young and I need all the help I can get on that."

For the past 7 years Chuck Lewis has big driving a big yellow bus. It actually pulled him out of retirement.

"It just wasn't for me and I had to find something else to do and I just kind of fell in to this and I really enjoy it."

"If all my students are here, I think I had 82 yesterday on 2 runs."

82 little lives he makes an impact on everyday.

"I guess what I try to do more than anything is just try to be a friend to them," says Lewis.
Even though the time he spends is pretty slim, "I have them for about 15 to 20  minutes a day."

But every moment is important.

Carting around kids just another way to invest in the lives of Springdale Students.

"We're the first to see them in the morning and the last to see them in the evening."
