Arkansas High School Basketball Tournament Roundup

Fort Smith Southside Lady Rebels avoided the upset in the  7A state tournament in Fayetteville Wednesday by pulling out a 59-58 overtime win over Rogers Heritage.   Senior Peyton Hamilton hit a free throw with 3.3 seconds remaining in overtime to give Southside the win.    The lady Rebels trailed Heritage 58-55 when Calli White connected on her only 3 point shot of the game with 20 seconds remaining.  Southside achieved a 20 win season with the victory and faces number one seed Little Rock Central Friday.

Earlier in the Tournament Van Buren pulled out a 52-49 win over Conway.  Freshman Mitchell White completed a 3 point play with a turn around shot in the lane and bonus free throw to lift the Pointers to the win.  In other state tournament action involving area teams Wednesday:
