Two controversial abortion bills have the potential of advancing to the governors desk this week.
House Bill 1037, banning abortions after 20 weeks, is expected to go before the Senate for a vote as early as today. While Senate Bill 134, known as the Fetal Heartbeat Bill --
the most controversial of the two -- which would ban abortions after just 12 weeks, is scheduled for a vote in the House Committee on Public Health Tuesday.
If passed, SB134 could see a floor vote by the end of the week.
Both bills include exemptions for rape, incest and if the mother's life is in jeopardy, but many believe both bills are unconstitutional and, if either became law, experts say a court battle is inevitable.
Check back in for updates throughout the day.
