Meat giant, Tyson Foods, donated $40,000 to the Snack-Pack hunger relief effort on Monday.

The donation comes as part of Tyson's "Know Hunger" campaign that launched last year.

"It's often a misconception in the United States throughout our country that in our neighborhoods there is not an issue of hunger, but the fact is, there is," says Tyson representative, Anetta Young.

The check presentation took place Monday afternoon at the Samaritan Community Center in Rogers, where the Snack Pack program is also located.

The Snack-Pack program helps deliver food to local kids in need, and serves more than 90 schools and head start centers across Northwest Arkansas.
