"Well, we're really excited to present two new exhibitions that are on view now."

Art Under Pressure and Abstractions On Paper both now gracing the walls of Crystal Bridges.

And museum officials say visitors can expect to be greeted with something different.

"We hope they're going to be introduced to an all-new medium, which is works on paper," says Executive Director Don Bacigalupi.

The Abstractions On Paper showcases works from a collection not too far away.

"This came through with as a collaboration with our friends at the Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock," Bacigalupi says.

"They have one of the premiere collections of works on paper in the country, and they were generous enough to lend us a really nice selection to present this exhibition."

These detailed designs in the Art Under Pressure gallerry are works that haven't been seen by the public eye in decades.

"These are works that don't get seen very often, first of all they're works on paper, they're quite fragile, so they can't be on view permanently anywhere," Bacigalupi says.

"Every kind of way in which artists make prints that is multiple works of art represented in this collection."

Both exhibits opened last week and will remain open until the spring.

"We're really excited about having these exhibitions now in 2013, leading up to our Norman Rockwell exhibition, which opens in March," Bacigalupi says.

A colorful start to the new year for Arkansas' premiere art museum.
